Mr's myth-buster
Things people tell Mr that aren't quite right
"I owe IRD, so no lender will look at me."
Mr says: IRD debt is looked at case by case, and clearing it is one of the most common reasons New Zealand businesses borrow. Filed returns and a plan go a long way.

What is Mr Business Loans?
Mr Business Loans answers the funding questions New Zealand business owners ask, then helps them find finance that fits: property-secured business loans from $20,000 to $5,000,000 and unsecured options for trading businesses, typically $5,000 to $500,000.
Does asking a question affect my credit score?
No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check is only discussed once you decide to go ahead with an application.
Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?
No. We don't spray enquiries around. A real person looks at your situation, talks to you, and matches it properly before anything goes anywhere.
Can I borrow if I owe IRD money?
Often, yes. IRD debt is considered case by case. Having your returns filed, knowing your myIR balance and having a plan, such as an instalment arrangement, all help.
Do you publish interest rates?
No. Every business loan is priced on its own circumstances — security, credit history, term, amount and purpose. A specialist will give you real figures for your situation before you commit.
Is this for personal loans or home loans?
No. Mr Business Loans is for business-purpose finance only. Property can be used as security, but the money must be for the business.
Which parts of New Zealand do you help?
Businesses right across New Zealand — from Northland to Southland, in the cities and the regions.
